As a musician, it’s important to remember to always answer the call. It may sound cliche but like Forest said, “You never know what you’re gonna get.” My good friend Bryan Howard calls me a lot. I always answer. He is usually looking for guitar tracks on fun tunes of his and other local artists. This call was a bit different. Can you be at the 40 Watt on Tuesday? “Sure man, what’s up?” Well, Wynonna Judd is recording a music video with Mike Mills (R.E.M.) and David Lowery (Cracker) and they need a guitar player. Be ready to get the call. Always answer the call. 🙂

And “the call” can be a physical thing as well as that little metaphysical tug that says, “Hey, let’s try something new today.” “The Call” could come as a spiritual awakening or that little voice that says, “You can do it.” I love this so much! Thank you for reminding us to heed “the call”!
